Our Pastor, Derrick E. Young is a visionary and leader who believes the Lord will always make a way for those who trust Him.
Out of his love and obedience to God, Pastor Young believes in making lifelong Christian disciples who follow Jesus Christ and teaches them to make disciples who follow Jesus Christ so that the Church may continue to strengthen lives which will strengthen homes, communities, cities, states, countries, and the world.
Our Pastor models his leadership from 1 Peter 5:1-4, “Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.”
Pastor and First Lady Gale Young are high school sweethearts from Gary, Indiana. They have two children whose families have blessed them with three grandchildren. Pastor Young is also an Advance Practice Board Certified Chaplain who serves as a Chaplain in the Veterans Health Care System. He served in the military for 15 years before he was medically separated in 1999 with an Honorable Discharge.
First Lady Gale Young serves in the Duval County School System as an Assistant Principle and is known for her compassion, love, and dedication to being an educator. Her aspiration is to prepare today’s-youth for life tomorrow through spiritual guidance, academics, and love.
Pastor received his calling to the ministry on February 19, 2001, and was ordained on August 17, 2003. He and First Lady planted Unity in their home on June 27, 2010.
